Evaluating and optimizing international career-advice service to increase sign-up with more than 50%
< Back to Projects | Next project >
Path Motion is an international career-advice service based in Paris, France. They help recent graduates find job opportunities based on the career paths of like-minded professionals, and help employers promote their job opportunities. Heuristic Evaluation PathMotion asked me to conduct a Heuristic evaluation of their web-based service offering career advice, self-assessment and targeted vacant positions. Observations and recommendations were made in order to identify problems and to recommend solutions. User Experience Based on the results of the heuristic evaluation, I conducted a workshop at PathMotion in Paris, where detailed improvements of interaction design were made in a simple process using rapid prototyping. User Experience and Interaction Design Following the implementation of the first round of improvement of user experience, another workshop was conducted in Copenhagen to identify areas for further detailed optimization of interaction and user experience design on the now third live iteration of the service, using analytics and user input. PathMotion has now gained solid traction over the last year building a community of engaged graduates as well as securing large blue-chip clients, smaller niche organizations and universities. OUTCOME: With little change in the layout and simplifying several reoccurring interactions, the team in Paris and the team in Copenhagen were not just able to increase the number of signups by 50%, but we also increased the time of active usage by more than double - people simply spent more time providing the service with more valuable information, because it became both fun and usable.
