Fatdux is an user experience agency network headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 2006 I founded FatDUX together with Usability Specialist Thomas Snitker and a Freelance Copywriter, to create an international UX agency based on a network of independent offices and freelance associates. During the 6 years I worked at FatDUX we managed to open small offices in a number of cities around the world: Hamburg, Ottawa, Prague, Portland, Los Angeles, Seattle, Budapest and Zagreb. Business Plan The business plan was to create branded network to used by small offices and self-employed contractors, who needed the broader shoulders of an international brand. In return they would pay a percentage of their revenue, in turn further growing the brand. A significant part of my job was to create and maintain the company's design process, run workshops and manage design teams as well as clients and projects across several locations and time zones. Brand Strategy I wrote the brand guidelines for the company, in order to enable a coherent In the book "How we work, how we look" I made a series of visual guidelines and framework for working processes, which could help create and support coherency across all offices. Visual Identity As the creative director I designed the company visual identity, including the logo, where the mixed use of lower and upper case lettering was not only designed to intrigue but also to make the company name stand out even in regular text - this and the extensive use of rubber ducks created a strong and recognizable brand. OUTCOME: The charm and simplicity of the "DUX" along with a strategy to sponsor and appear very vocally at a few conferences made Fatdux one of the most recognizable brands in the UX industry in the span of just a few years.
